The main focus of the educational program and specialization

Special education in the field of applied physics and nanomaterials with focus on medical physics and specialization in the subject area of intellectual analysis of physical models, as well as properties of functional materials, devices and systems for medical use.

A graduate of the educational program is awarded a bachelor’s degree with the qualification: Bachelor of Applied Physics and Nanomaterials.

Employment

Graduates can work as medical devices engineers in hospitals, as engineers in companies related to medical equipment, inspectors in Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations, radiological protection inspectors, and statisticians in biomedical companies. In addition, they can find work in the broadly understood IT sector, also in hospitals and in economic sectors related to the production or distribution of medical equipment, in institutions requiring qualitative and quantitative data analysis and process modeling.

  • higher educational institutions (universities, institutes, colleges);
  • research institutes, centers, laboratories for the development, production and practical implementation of new nanomaterials;
  • medical equipment engineers in diagnostic and treatment medical institutions;
  • industrial laboratories, institutes and research and production centers for the development of new medical equipment and systems;
  • experts on new medical developments using physical methods, processes, technologies;
  • industrial enterprises of branch affiliation.

Official partners and practice bases, foreign partners (signed cooperation documents):

  • Ivano-Frankivsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1;
  • Center of Modern Ophthalmology (Ivano-Frankivsk);
  • University of Münster and University Hospital Münster (Department of Medicine A – Hematology, Oncology & Pulmonology), Philipps Universität Marburg (Department of Physics) (Germany) – cooperation under BMBF program “Establishing German-Ukrainian Excellence Centers (CoE) in Ukraine”;
  • Rzeszow University (Republic of Poland) – the possibility of studies for graduates on the “Medical Physics” program at the Master’s level in Poland

Additional benefits of the educational program:

  • graduates of the educational program have the possibility to study for free at the Master’s double diplomas program between the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the University of Rzeszów (Republic of Poland);
  • participation in academic exchange programs at European universities (until 2023, students of the faculty within the framework of Erasmus programs had the opportunity of academic exchange with the University of Iasi (Romania), the University of Graz (Austria), the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia));
  • additional training at the military department to obtain the rank of officer;
  • a unique opportunity to study through research: students are invited to scientific laboratories already from the first year study, and from the second year the active students get the opportunity to be authors / co-authors of scientific publications!
